Thanksgiving weekend is always our traditional "find-the-perfect-tree" time. We went to a different tree farm this year which is the closest one to our home in the mountains. First they had us all climb into the hay wagon for a trip up the hill to search for the perfect tree.
It didn't take us long to find The one... we could have closed our eyes & pointed & any one of them would have been fine. They all were beautiful! As soon as we selected "ours", they loaded it on a truck & headed back down the hill.
The view from up on the hill was spectacular: it looked down on the "barn", which is a barn on the lower level & living quarters for the owners on the upper level. The barn is new (about 2 years old), & is surrounded by acres of pastureland for the 20 horses who call it home. The owner grew up in the little house nearby (white house in the background), & his grandfather built the old barn across the road which is over 100 years old (& now used for hay storage.) We have admired this barn/house since it was built & the lower level is certainly nice, clean, & attractive with the horse's names on each stall.
Rows & rows of beautiful trees cover the hillsides....
and we tagged the one destined for our house....
so now all we have to do.... is get it put up & decorated.
I love the NC mountains!!!
