All of them were "behind the scenes" serving unselfishly and they were such a blessing to me.
Some were "new" friends (I just met this friend a few months ago & as soon as she heard we were doing the rehearsal party at our house she wanted to help.) She made two fabulous cheese cakes & came in the afternoon to help prepare the food, then served AND cleaned up.
This friend I've known for years but her hubby has been my hubby's golf pal for the last few years, especially since both men retired. She too came in the afternoon to help with the preparation, served, AND helped with the clean up.
They worked tirelessly...
And my "best" girlfriend was there to help, after making some of the food at her house... while her hubby watched the "cooker" all day with the pig on it.
This friend left her 3 young children to help with the prep (we're making shrimp & grits..), serving, AND clean up. She also made food for the Sunday brunch we had for the out of town guests (next door at G's. house)
There were the "really behind the scenes" friends who made food at home for the rehearsal AND the brunch) & delivered it, who dropped off mirror tiles on my front porch (for the reception), who loaned trays, who did ALL the floral arrangements for the wedding and reception, who set up the ENTIRE reception while we were at the wedding, who CLEANED up after the reception (led by my dear son-in-love!), all of whom did THE most important thing: PRAYED!
There was also the friend who took candid shots for us....
and the bride's friend who did all of the photography over the entire weekend!
and the bride's former roommate who came from Michigan to be her personal hair stylist.
and there were friends who had WAY to much fun doing their "job"...

Friends are truly a gift from God!
Sounds like a great group of people!!
Because you have opened your home to so many women and friends over the years, it was only fitting to see them rally around you during this special time. What a gift of time, labor of love, and huge blessing.
Who wouldn't want to help this sweet family! Plus it was enticing to be in a kitchen without 3 little ones hanging on my feet and repeatedly saying "mommy, mommy". Plus I needed to be reminded to keep praying for that special spouse for each of them. You did a fabulous job with the entire weekend of events.
That is great that you had so many wonderful people surrounding you all at this special time in your lives. :)
