Maize Maze

We pulled into the road past this neat house...

and finally took advantage of a regular fall opportunity that we've talked about for the last few years...

a walk through a corn maize maze... with some really tall corn stalks!

This wasn't just any old "maze" but one that had corn still on the vine stalk...

and some on the ground...

It was fun for young & "not so young"...

There were other fun "features" for all ages of children...
including Corn Hole games, sling shots mounted to posts (everyone got 3 tennis balls to try to "sling" into the 3 inner tubes in the middle of the pond, with 3 different distances to try from), a maze made up of hay bales for the really little tots, a smaller "jump" area & playground for the little ones, the big blow-up slide & jump area, & the hill slide.

Why do we always want to go "up the down"?...

(One little guy went on top of the slide to go up every time!)

We were amazed how long the children played on the slide, climbing the hill over and over again to slide down into the dirt mulch!  It gave us a long sit-in-the-sun time to relax.

The place (near Jefferson, NC) had a beautiful layout across several acres...

With features like this...

pleasing to the eye and full of charm...

With a real fire to warm up!

When the corn season is over & the families have gone home, this farm has other things going for it...

like starting new trees...

and growing them up...

This cute house has a view of it all!

How nice to visit a place that is family-friendly with lots of outdoor activities for all ages! Their rates were reasonable, even for the food & drinks; the people were friendly; the atmosphere was very laid back; and everyone had a great time.
Glad we finally took advantage of this opportunity, and we'll be back!

Looks like so much fun! That stone fireplace is beautiful. I'd love to have one like that in MY backyard!
